About the event
The Legal Update course will update police officers on recent changes in both criminal law and police procedure. The course reviews recent legal holdings in search and seizure, admissions and confessions, arrest procedures, as well as statutory changes in drunk driving laws, crimes against persons and property, firearms, controlled substances, evidentiary issues, civil liability and other related topics.
This course will be taught by Professor Dave Greydanus, JD. Dave is the chair for Criminal Justice at Grace Christian University. He was a trooper with the Michigan State Police for nearly 30 years where he served at various assignments throughout the state. Dave was a command officer and instructor at the Michigan State Police Training Academy where he taught Criminal Law and Police Procedure. Dave also instructs at Ferris State University and the West Michigan Training Consortium.

Time: Two separate four-hour time blocks; 8:00am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-5:00pm
