About the event

This course will update Michigan Police Officers on recent changes in both criminal law and police procedure. The course reviews recent legal holdings in search and seizure, admissions and confessions, arrest procedures, as well as statutory changes in drunk/drugged driving laws, crimes against persons and property, firearms, controlled substances, evidentiary issues, civil liability and other related topics. This course is not designed to replace local legal practices, procedures and precedents, or agency policies. If there is interest, agencies can share this Announcement with their local Prosecuting Attorney Offices.

The course will be held at the Camp Grayling Army Airfield (GAAF) Classroom. Agencies should reserve

seating as soon as possible; seats will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. A read ahead Course

Outline will be forwarded to each agency to duplicate and provide to the attending officers. Course will be

MCOLES approved/satisfies annual requirement.

Class Size: Maximum 40 Officers per session.

Cost Per Officer: NMLETG Member Fee: Free. Non-Member Fee: $25.00.
